The King’s Gurkha Artillery receives symbolic new cap badge
Following approval from His Majesty The King and the announcement in April this year of the formation of the British Army’s newest unit, The King’s Gurkha Artillery (KGA) Regiment, we can proudly reveal the Regiment’s new cap badge, the final piece of the official formation process.
The badge, the first created for a Gurkha regiment in 14 years, reflects a pairing of two of the Army’s most recognised symbols – the crossed khukuri of the Gurkhas and the field gun of The Royal Artillery, and bears the words “Ubique” meaning “Everywhere” and "Quo Fas et Gloria Ducunt" which means "Whither Right and Glory Lead".
400 Gurkhas will join the Regiment over the next four years. In November 2025, the first KGA Gunners to pass out of the Infantry Training Centre Catterick will join those already training at Larkhill in Wiltshire where the Regiment will be based.
The KGA will become an important part of the Army’s artillery which delivers targeted, lethal support to the UK Armed Forces.
