2025 Battle of the Badges April 5 at Big Bear Arena

Proceeds will go to a scholarship in memory of fallen Sault Fire Lt. Jason Carstens.

It's been a few years since these two sides of first responders have duked it out on the ice in Fire vs. Police/Battle of the Badges so this upcoming event could be quite entertaining.

Personnel from active Chippewa County law enforcement and active Chippewa County fire departments, along with children of those first responders, will participate in the event that will raise money for a scholarship in memory of fallen Sault Fire Lt. Jason Carstens.

The April 5 event is at 2 p.m. at the Big Bear Arena in Sault Ste. Marie. There is a $5 entry fee.

There will be a 50/50 drawing, a bucket-raffle and a silent auction. Children can skate with the first responders after the hockey match.  Skates are available to rent free of charge.
